I didn't see a lot of RAW tonight. I got to Marc's about halfway through, and then visited with him and Kate and made a samich so I wasn't paying close attention. That being said, I have two positives and two negatives:

Positives:

Jeff Hardy vs. Johny Nitro: Even though I missed this match, I was thinking about it on the way over and disappointed that I missed it. This in itself shows that WWE is going in the right direction.

DX/McMahons: Serious DX was a refreshing change of pace.

Negatives

Tag Match: More specifically, Charlie Haas. If he ever goes to TNA, I think he will be just like Killings, Christian and Jarrett. Another guy that WWE could have made a star out of but, for whatever reason, held down. Send him to SD and put him in the main event. This is the most unused potential since Test.

Cryme Time: This isn't racist at all...

RAW was entertaining, some things that stick out in my mind:

Hardy/Nitro: I like that they left Hardy grounded tonite (literally). Having him take high-risk moves would have basically been giving away their PPV match. Same goes for the DQ, I see no problem with it.

Maria/Paint: Why did they keep doing random shots of her staring at the paint? And WHY waste time with the Kiss Kam or whatever that is?

DX/McMahons: I liked the "serious" DX, as Cody said, nice change of pace.

Ric Flair: What the heck was up with him being out there?

Cryme Time: Can you say LAX?

Which leads me to say, I think TNA is starting to get to Vince. Let's see, they have a Samoa Joe rip-off, they brought back Hardy, and now they have their own LAX. Too bad Cryme Time will be like the Renegade of WCW...

Cryme Tyme looks like shit. Pure racist shit.

Actually, Cryme Time has been doing the gimmick since before LAX I do believe. They were doing the gimmick in OVW as "The Neighborhoodies." I know they've been doing it for a few months. The gimmick isn't the same either, they're played for comedy, while LAX is supposed to be completely serious. Personally, I found their vignette absolutely hilarious. Of course I work for an indy that has a skinny white dude used as a manager who is a black supremist.

I must say though, who is the Samoa Joe ripoff? Umaga? He's nothing like Joe other than the fact that he's Samoan. Vince has been playing Samoans as savages for year. If anything, Umaga is just another recycling of The Samoans, The Islanders, The Headshrinkers -- Vince has used that gimmick for years. Hence Joe's very public reasoning for choosing TNA over WWE (who was also interested in him at the time as Foley was pushing hard for him) -- namely he would still get to be Joe in TNA.

I haven't had a chance to listen to the thoughts, but I'll post my thoughts after I listen to yours. For now, I have to be at work in six and a half hours.

To Pat:

Um...UNDEFEATED comes to mind which reminds me of Joe...and I think they even called Umaga at one point the Samoan machine (or something like that, now they call him Samoan bulldozer).

I'm not sure if you know this or not Marc, but Joe isn't the first person to be pushed off an undefeated streak. Of course we all remember Goldberg, but it's one of the oldest gimmicks ever. Hell, Tatanka got a push like that.

And yes, they call him the Samoan Bulldozer, which is what Estrada always has called him.
