Cyber Sunday Review -- 11/05/06

It's a special audio post in FullyKrazy-land. It's special because it's the Cyber Sunday review. It's special because a couple of 50-year-olds won the tag titles. It's special because DJ Fully lied and actually got the pay-per-view. And it's special because something happened on this site that hasn't in ages. There's only one way to find out what. Listen, then LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS ON CYBER SUNDAY AND WHERE WE GO FROM HERE!

NEWS -- Bischoff at RAW, Full Statement from Angle

WWE.com is reporting that former general manager Eric Bischoff is backstage at RAW and will "hopefully" appear on the show. Advertisements airing on Spike TV are telling viewers not to miss the first 10 minutes of the show.

Bischoff was last seen as a regular character when he was "fired" by Vince McMahon as GM on December 5, 2005. He was mentioned and shown in the crowd at the most recent WWE Hall of Fame ceremony when Sherri Martel brought him up. He also recently signed a book deal for WWE to put out his story.

On the other major wrestling story, TNA President Dixie Carter released the full statement from Kurt Angle at TNAWrestling.com, saying Kurt himself wrote the words, not his agent. In the company's press release (see previous post), only a portion of the statement was used. This is Angle's statement in its entirity:

"Being with TNA feels like I have finally found my home. I had fun in WWE at certain times, but I was never really happy. Now being a part of TNA, I know I have a purpose. I feel like I am part of history, part of a company that is not only on the rise – not only going to be the number-one watched wrestling show in the world within a short period of time – but TNA gives me an opportunity to spread my wings. This company has no limits to where it can go. The sky is the limit and the main reason is because they brought the “real” back into wrestling and that is a perfect fit for the greatest wrestler in USA Olympic history. I have room to grow here and to help TNA grow. Working for these caring and very giving employers of TNA makes me feel like I have a purpose and that the sky is the limit. I don’t feel trapped or held back like I did the first six years in my tenure with the other company. They held me back. Now, our wonderful audience will see the real Kurt Angle doing what I love to do – real wrestling – and that’s what puts a smile on my face each time I come to work. I even smile when I think about it. TNA will be the most watched television show on cable television. It’s only a matter of time. Now, I get the opportunity and privilege of being a part of it. Thank you TNA for saving my career, my life and my desire to do what I love. I will be here in some capacity for the rest of my life. That’s real…that’s damn real."

NEWS -- RAW vs. SmackDown vs. ECW at Survivor Series

WWE.com is reporting that the three WWE brands will compete in a match at the 20th Survivor Series. Details are not being released as far as what the match will be or how many people will compete.

That's where YOU come in.

What kind of match should the three-brand brawl be at Survivor Series? And who do you think should be in it? Remember, they'll be building a bunch of other brand matches, so do you think we'll see King Booker or John Cena in the match? Or will it be a mid-card match-up?

LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS on what you think this three-brand dance should be?

WWE RAW Review -- 08/28/06

First of all, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for bearing with us during our audio issues. It's really out of our hands, meaning our hands are free to wring the necks of the folks in charge of the service that have failed to give updates at all about their issues. But instead of wringing, we restrain and stand defiant in the face of adversity.

DJ FULLY'S TALKING POINTS FOR RAW

  1. Edge and Cena will battle in TLC -- No big newsflash, but I thought from the announcement by Cena that he'll go to SmackDown! if he loses, to Edge's interference in Cena's match with the "leaner and meaner after his sabbatical" Chris Masters, it was a well-thought-out angle. The SD stip adds another level of intrigue to a feud recently revitalized by a hot couple of weeks of stories. Edge and Flair proved TLC can be done in a single's environment, and Cena has always had his best matches in street fight and brawl matches. I'm looking forward to this one.
  2. Lita blabs that Trish is retiring -- I'm glad they're addressing this prior to Trish leaving. I'm assuming we'll see Trish and Lita at Unforgiven, adding yet another match with build-up to the card, which is already shaping up very nicely for a non-Big 4 show. Trish, in my mind, is the greatest female wrestler of all time, and leaves an amazing legacy that will be hard to live up to. Here's hoping she goes out with a sense of satisfaction, as she has certainly provided us with a lot of Stratusfaction over the years.
  3. Building matches...what a concept! -- With three weeks to go before Unforgiven, it appears we have TLC for the WWE Title, Hell in a Cell with the McMahons and Big Show versus DX, Orton/Carlito, Trish/Lita, Kane/Umaga and Nitro/Hardy for the Intercontinental Title. That'll be six matches with about five weeks build, and likely more to be developed in the next few weeks. It feels like 1999 all over again (I can't feel wrestling's 1998...I wasn't a fan yet), and it feels damn good. When everyone has direction and rivalries and time on-air, everyone wins, especially the fans. Good job to the WWE writers...and I almost feel dirty saying that.
  4. DX and the McMahons, Take 43 -- ...and ACTION! Look, I'm as sick of the rivalry as anyone. As much as I praise the writers, I just don't think they have anything for DX after the McMahons, so they're leaching blood from their dry turnip. I'd say they got a drop out of it with the announcement of the Hell in a Cell and by adding Big Show. Will this be a classic HiaC? Absolutely not. A handicap cell match hasn't been done to my knowledge, and could be a logistical nightmare. But the McMahons typically pull out acceptable matches, and if this is the blowoff to this (endless) drama, it should be decent. Finlay, Regal and Kennedy didn't come out looking great after their loss to DX, but at least they got some time on a show with viewers.

Overall, another strong RAW building towards a pay-per-view I'm more excited about than SummerSlam. No amazing matches (Hardy/Orton was the best), and the crowd wasn't all that hot in Atlantic City, but the show was good nonetheless.

WWE RAW Review -- 08/14/06

RVD -- Commits real crime...is arrested...is stripped of title
Triple H -- Commits fake crime...is arrested...is thrown out of the building
Shawn Michaels -- See Triple H

Edge -- Commits two fake crimes...and that's it.

A surprisingly good women's match, great work from Carlito and an above-average Flair-Foley encounter couldn't save Monday Night RAW from the wrath of DJ Fully, who gives the pre-SummerSlam show a big thumbs down in his talking points audio review.
