A couple things I neglected to mention:

-They've botched Hardcore Holly's face turn. He got zero reaction during the match for his offense. They should have run some promos on his toughness before his redebut, or just not turned him face at all. They still need some strong, credible heels on that show.

-Big Show is obviously hurting. Test was in that match for the vast majority, and Show did not take any huge bumps. The belt will change hands at the PPV...but to who? Also, our regular reader, Cody, is saying the rumor is Show will retire after Mania. I've also heard they're considering a Hogan/Show match, trying to recreate Hogan/Andre in Detroit 20 years later. That could be both their last matches.

The tag match at this ECW reminded my of the Andre/Haku vs. Demolition match from Mania 6. For all you non-old school fans, it was Andre's last match in America, and he didn't even tag in. Test working the bulk of the match while Show was on the outside really brought to mind Haku working the entire match. Good news is, if Show goes out doing Hogan's retirement match, he'll go out on top. I'm sure he'll job but he'll also be honored to do it. Hogan brought him in and it's only appropriate that they end their careers together, if they are both going out.

As I'm a spoiler reader (especially since I don't actually watch any of the shows) I can tell you that a bunch of your concerns will be addressed next week on the show.

I've already posted a spoiler elsewhere on this site as to the next two names into the Elimination Chamber, and my speculation on the sixth and final spot based on the happenings at that show. All in all I like the possibilities of the match. As I said at that time, people need to stop hoping this is old school ECW. It's not. However it IS a good brand of wrestling (for the most part) both creatively and in terms of in-ring action. It's a WWE brand, plain and simple, but it's one that's fairly well written with some solid workers.

Pat... You said it best.

Cody... WrestleMania VI is my FAVORITE mania. Haku or not.

DJ... Hogan plus the word retirement is a fraud to sell more tickets. Haven't you learned anything from the likes of Terry Funk and Mick Foley? Even Bruno Sammartino came back when his tits were hitting the floor. Even Nature Boy Buddy Rogers was wrestling in the 1990's.

I'm not too sure about Show retiring. Don't know where this rumor started. If he does he has Hollywood waiting.

Wrestlemania VI was a good mania, and I even enjoyed the Tag Title match. But it was obvious that Andre was pretty much unable to work at that point and I hate to see Show in a similar situation. Also the rumor is from prowrestling.com or wrestlinginc.com, or possibly both. It says that he is in a lot of pain and his contract ends in February, which I don't get since he signed a ten year deal in 1998. If he's able he'll work the match with Hogan. And I'm kinda of with you on the thought that Hogan will never officially retire, but, at his size, his body isn't holding up as well as people like Flair's are.

I think guys like Hogan should be careful. With his muscle size that can't be good for his age. He is too big. I fear a heart attack if he is not careful but Hogan is really good about check ups with his doctor so I guess he knows his body better than I.

I picked up an old video here in Houston yesterday and it had that Haku/Andre vs. Demolition match on it! I thought that was funny considering a few hours earlier we had discussed it.

Did you watch it yet? Ventura's commentary during the Rhodes match and Andre paintbrushing Heenan are both Hilarious. And Warrior and Hogan put on a really good match.

I love listening to Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan on these old coliseum vids. Those two together really make me crack up! That's what the difference was back then compared to now.

The Commentators! The wrestling now is better, but the commentary back then was so histarical!

Monsoon: Would you stop!

Fans of today know Heenan was a funny guy, but they really have no idea what a genius comedian he was unless they watch these old matches.

I was watching a STINKER between Tito Santana and former partner Rick Martel, but it was still entertaining because of the commentary.

PS - Whats all this got to do with ECW anyway?

It's like seven steps to Kevin Bacon. Big Show taking it easy during a tag match -> Andre/Haku at 'Mania VI -> Old school wrasslin

I think this might be the NEW NEW record here at the Fully Krazy comments section! ECW did spark the old record by the way. So that must mean ECW is doing something right.

- Party on!
